WESTMINSTER -- Chloe Glover stood in Bob Mason Sr.'s barn eating vanilla ice cream with homemade maple syrup for the first time Saturday.

D.C. Farms owner Dan Carmel likes to say that "maple runs through my blood." And that's a good thing, too -- with wild weather patterns having hit the Berkshires, it's taken every ounce of the Hinsdale resident's experience to ride out an unruly maple syrup season.
