 | During 2007, SAP held one of its SAP Tech conferences in India in recognition of India's rapidly growing enterprise software market and as a mark of SAP's commitment to serving companies of all sizes in India and its neighborhood. In August 2007, SAP announced that it has accorded India the status of a strategic hub and has inaugurated a new office in Gurgaon in North India. SAP has more than 1,150 customers and 2,500 installations in India, which constitute 54 percent of the ERP market. SAP envisions further growth in many regions of the India. This has prompted SAP to invest $1 billion over the next five years in India to further expand its presence in the region. At SAP ACE 2007, SAP India honored the best managed businesses that have been setting global benchmarks in excellence at SAP ACE 2007.
 | SAP ACE 2007 received overwhelming customer reaction across the Indian Subcontinent which was ample proof that Indian business houses were efficiently using technology for achieving business goals. Nominations included companies of all sizes, with revenues ranging from less than Rs.20 Crores to the largest companies in Indian Sub continent. SAP India announced the winners of SAP ACE 2007 (Awards for Customer Excellence) in recognition of customer excellence. SAP India has registered an unprecedented growth of over 100% both in terms of license revenue and customer acquisition. SAP India was declared as the "Hub of the Year" in Asia Pacific Japan for its 2007 business performance.
During the last 11 years, SAP has been the market leader in the Indian enterprise software market. .In August 2006, the company was the first enterprise software vendor in India to cross the 1000-customer mark and the number of its Indian customers has risen to 3024 in 2007. SAP India witnessed growth across all aspects of business including education, software-related services, customer satisfaction and employee satisfaction.
